Criticism Over Cancellation Trial of Jo's Admission
Jung "Lucky Fate... I Can't Live Feeling Wronged"
Jung Yura, the daughter of Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil), has once again publicly criticized Cho Min, the daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk.
On the 16th, Jung Yura shared an article on Facebook about Cho Min’s testimony in the trial regarding the cancellation of her admission to the Busan National University Medical School, where Cho Min said, “I did my best from my own position,” and wrote, “I can’t stand it anymore.”
Jung Yura said, “Prosecutors, quickly issue the warrant. Do exactly as you did to me,” and added, “I can’t stand this absurd world that seems to be ruled by the left anymore. If Cho Min’s medical license is not canceled starting tomorrow, I will also go after other athletes and revoke the degrees of those who did not attend.” She also said, “I will file a lawsuit to return the degree. I can’t live feeling so wronged.”
Despite lacking sufficient attendance days, Jung Yura graduated from Cheongdam High School and earned credits at Ewha Womans University. Before the first trial verdict was even issued, she was expelled from both schools.
In contrast to Jung Yura’s case, Korea University and Busan National University have stated that they will decide on canceling Cho Min’s admission only after the Supreme Court’s final ruling on her mother, former Dongyang University professor Jung Kyung-shim.
Regarding Cho Min, Jung Yura said, “They can even fight in court over whether she becomes a doctor or not... I just think she’s lucky,” and added, “I was canceled outright without even a chance to defend myself.”
Cho Min appeared in court that day and said, “Through this experience, I realized that my parents and I come from a privileged background and that I received somewhat more benefits than other friends because of that. If the judge gives me a chance, I will try to become someone who contributes to society.”
In April, Cho Min’s side filed a lawsuit against Busan National University, which canceled her admission to the medical school, seeking to revoke the cancellation and also filed a provisional injunction to suspend the effect of the cancellation.
The court partially accepted Cho Min’s request for the provisional injunction. Accordingly, Cho Min will be able to maintain her status as a medical school graduate until 30 days after the main lawsuit verdict is announced.
The court announced that it would conclude the witness examination and other arguments that day and deliver the verdict at 10 a.m. on the 6th of next month.
Previously, Jung Yura had criticized Cho Min several times on Facebook after Cho Min declared her intention to engage in public activities. Last month, she said, “What was so lacking in my qualifications as an equestrian that your father (former Minister Cho Kuk) treated me that way?” and added, “The strange logic of the Democratic Party that swallows the sweet and spits out the bitter. No matter what the left says, my (Asian Games) medal is not forged.”
