Noh Tae-woo's Son Enrolls in Kim Dae-jung Political School... 12-Week Special Lectures by Opposition Figures

No Jaeheon, director of the East Asia Culture Center and son of the late former President Roh Tae-woo, has enrolled in the "Kim Dae-jung Political School."

According to political circles on the 16th, Director Noh was accepted as a student of the 4th class of this school on the 14th. The Kim Dae-jung Political School was established last year to nurture the "future Kim Dae-jung," who inherits the thoughts, policies, and legacy of former President Kim Dae-jung, including forgiveness and reconciliation, cooperation, and coexistence. So far, three classes have graduated, and the 4th class, which Director Noh joined, consists of about 70 students.

On that day, the entrance ceremony and the first special lecture were held. Kwon No-gap, honorary chairman of the Kim Dae-jung Peace Center and senior advisor of the Democratic Party of Korea, gave a congratulatory speech at the entrance ceremony, and Moon Hee-sang, former Speaker of the National Assembly and head of the school, delivered a lecture titled "Why the Spirit of Kim Dae-jung." Starting from that day, special lectures will continue for 12 weeks until June 8. Lecturers include Kim Sung-jae, chairman of the Kim Dae-jung Nobel Prize Memorial Hall; Park Myung-rim, professor at Yonsei University; Kim Ha-jung, former Minister of Unification; Lim Dong-won, former Minister of Unification; Kim Jin-pyo, Speaker of the National Assembly; Shim Sang-jung, member of the Justice Party; and Kim Dong-yeon, governor of Gyeonggi Province.

Earlier, on the 16th of last month, Director Noh had a dinner meeting with the sons of former presidents Park Chung-hee, Kim Young-sam, and Kim Dae-jung, including Park Ji-man, CEO and chairman of EG; Kim Hyun-chul, chairman of the Kim Young-sam Presidential Foundation; and Kim Hong-eop, chairman of the Kim Dae-jung Asia-Pacific Peace Center. At this gathering, they expressed concern over the extreme polarization of the current political landscape in South Korea and shared a consensus on the need for unity and harmony.
