President Lee Boo-jin Reappointed as Inside Director for Fourth Term
"Will Rebuild Customer-Centered Business Model"
Lee Boo-jin, President of Hotel Shilla, stated on the 16th, "2023 is a meaningful year marking the 50th anniversary of Hotel Shilla's founding," and added, "We will discover new businesses that will serve as growth engines for the next 50 years."
During the 50th regular shareholders' meeting, President Lee said in her greeting, "We will seize opportunities in each business area to provide premium lifestyle experiences to customers in various ways and turn them into new sources of profitability." She continued, "We will not hesitate in advance because the success rate is not high, but will challenge the future with creative and progressive thinking."
President Lee also promised shareholders, "We will return to basics, thoroughly rebuild a customer-centric business model, and improve the profit structure solidly to establish a sustainable management system." Additionally, she announced, "With the launch of the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Committee, this year will be set as the inaugural year of ESG management."
Regarding last year's business performance, President Lee expressed, "I sincerely apologize for not meeting the expectations of our shareholders." Hotel Shilla's sales last year recorded 4.9 trillion KRW, a 30.2% increase from the previous year, but operating profit remained at 78 billion KRW, a 34.1% decrease due to the deteriorated business environment caused by COVID-19.
At the shareholders' meeting, Hotel Shilla approved the financial statements, appointment of inside directors, and limits on directors' remuneration. President Lee was reappointed as an inside director for a fourth term.
