Five Classes per Week per Course, Total 600 Hours of Training... Applications Accepted via District Website up to 7 Days Before Each Course Starts

Seocho-gu, nurturing young talents to lead the 4th Industrial Revolution era, is strengthening field-tailored talent development by newly establishing integrated expert courses incorporating ChatGPT.

Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will operate the ‘Seocho-gu 4th Industrial Revolution Software Education Program’ starting from the 27th to train job competencies needed in the 4th Industrial Revolution era.

The program was prepared to resolve the mismatch between local companies struggling to find talents needed in the 4th Industrial Revolution era and young people facing difficulties in employment.

The education consists of a total of 600 hours of lectures including ▲Cloud Expert ▲NFT (Web3) Expert based on Blockchain ▲E-commerce Service Development Expert based on Big Data.

In particular, the NFT and commerce service development courses include a project course integrating ChatGPT in the final session. Participants will query related codes to ChatGPT and incorporate the generated codes into the curriculum.

The courses will run for a total of 17 weeks until July, designed with professional content to enable immediate deployment in corporate practical work. Each course operates five times a week for an average of nine weeks, with each session lasting eight hours.

The course selection reflects survey results from about 360 local startup companies and job-seeking youth. Additionally, statistics from the 2020 Software Policy Research Institute’s report on ‘Annual Growth Rates and Labor Shortage Forecasts by Promising Domestic Industries’ were referenced, showing AI ranked first (growth rate 31.6%, shortage of 25,000 workers), Cloud second (growth rate 15.4%, shortage of 7,800 workers), and Big Data third (growth rate 12.5%, shortage of 6,000 workers).

Looking at the education content, the Cloud Expert course will start on the 27th and is subdivided into six subjects including Linux, Kubernetes, and Public Cloud, totaling 240 hours. This will provide in-depth education in the cloud sector.

The NFT course, starting in May, consists of 180 hours including lectures on blockchain and NFT development. This course will help participants develop the ability to create various web services directly.

The E-commerce Data Analysis course, starting in June, covers big data and Python basics, data input and analysis, and visualization methods. It aims to help develop practical services such as customer data analysis and commercial area analysis.

The target participants are youth aged 19 to 39, recruiting ▲90 for Cloud ▲30 for NFT ▲60 for E-commerce, totaling 180 people. Applications can be submitted via the Seocho-gu Office website or QR code linked to a Google Form up to seven days before each course starts. Applicants may apply for one or all three courses.

Afterward, the district will conduct one-on-one phone interviews with applicants regarding their basic knowledge of the course and IT certifications to select students. Those who complete the program will receive a certificate of completion issued by the Seocho-gu Office Mayor.

Meanwhile, the ‘Seocho-gu 4th Industrial Revolution Software Program’ began in 2020 with robot coding and blockchain courses and has expanded and changed its curriculum annually. Last year, 167 youths received education in coding, blockchain, big data, and metaverse, with 123 completing the courses.

Mayor Jeon Seong-su of Seocho-gu said, “As the 4th Industrial Revolution sector rapidly changes recently, connecting digitally skilled youth to companies and jobs has become especially important. We will continue to actively discover and support customized youth talent development programs that can be immediately deployed in the field in preparation for the 4th Industrial Revolution.”
