The Gaya-eup Residents' Autonomy Committee in Haman-gun, Gyeongnam, visited Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City, a sister city, for 2 nights and 3 days from the 10th to the 12th during the Jeju Fire Festival to sign an agreement for mutual cooperation and exchange activation.
A total of 24 people, including the Residents' Autonomy Committee chairman and the Gaya-eup mayor, participated in this exchange.

At the meeting, Jeju Provincial Council members, the chairman and members of the Nohyeong-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee, the Nohyeong-dong mayor, and staff welcomed the Gaya-eup Residents' Autonomy Committee.
They introduced the 2023 activities of the Nohyeong-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee and discussed direct transactions of agricultural products. In particular, they had a meaningful time through mutual cross-donation agreements for hometown love donations.
Both residents' autonomy committees pledged hometown love donations to their respective sister cities, Gaya-eup and Nohyeong-dong, leading efforts to promote the welfare and development of local residents.
Kim Jeom-geun, chairman of the Residents' Autonomy Committee, said, "Through continuous exchanges, I hope to create opportunities for mutual growth and development of residents in both regions and establish a solid cooperative system."
Meanwhile, since forming a sisterhood in June 2015, the Gaya-eup Residents' Autonomy Committee and the Jeju City Nohyeong-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee have continued mutual exchanges by holding annual commemorative events, special sales events for agricultural and specialty products, and visiting festivals.
