FKCCI-Keidanren Business Roundtable on the 17th
Attended by FKCCI Chairpersons and Others
Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, Chey Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group, Chung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, and Koo Kwang-mo, Chairman of LG Group, the heads of the four major conglomerates, will meet with key Japanese business leaders to discuss economic cooperation measures.
The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) announced on the 15th that more than 20 major business leaders from Korea and Japan will attend the "Korea-Japan Business Round Table" (BRT) held in Tokyo on the 17th in collaboration with the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren).
Under the theme of "Revitalizing Korea-Japan Economic Cooperation," the BRT on that day will be attended by Kim Byung-joon, Acting Chairman of the FKI, the heads of the four major conglomerates, and the FKI chairman group including △Shin Dong-bin, Chairman of Lotte Group △Kim Yoon, Chairman of Samyang Holdings △Lee Woong-yeol, Honorary Chairman of Kolon Group △Cho Hyun-joon, Chairman of Hyosung Group. Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, and Choi Jin-sik, Chairman of the Korea Association of Mid-sized Enterprises, will also be present.
From Japan, Tokuma Masakazu, Chairman of Keidanren, and 11 others are expected to attend.
The FKI stated that "the Korea-Japan relationship, which had been difficult, has warmed following the announcement of a solution to the forced labor issue on the 6th, and the need for economic cooperation between the two countries has increased. It is meaningful in that major business leaders from Korea and Japan gather to discuss economic cooperation and joint responses to global issues."
They added, "Taking this meeting as an opportunity, we will further strengthen economic cooperation with Japan and strive to expand mutual investment and personnel exchanges."
