Presided over by Vice Governor Kim Jeong-seop, the meeting was attended by about 40 officials from related organizations including departments, towns and townships, the Sports Council, police station, fire station, and education support office. The meeting conveyed the competition goals, promotion directions, and the current status of preparation teams by sector.

It also provided guidance on overall promotion contents such as securing venues and facility reinforcement, creating a festive atmosphere, urban environment maintenance, and citizen participation plans, as well as the responsibilities that related organizations and the county must undertake by sector.

Starting with the establishment of the basic plan for both sports festivals, the county plans to finalize symbols such as the competition emblem and mascot, and by June, create a pre-event atmosphere for a successful competition through the formation of an organizing committee and a launch ceremony with related organizations and groups representing various sectors.

Both sports festivals are scheduled to be held in the Yeonggwang-gun area in April 2024, with about 35,000 athletes and officials from 22 cities and counties in the province expected to visit Yeonggwang.

Vice Governor Kim Jeong-seop said, “Since this is a very meaningful event held in the county for the first time in 15 years, we will do our best to make it the most successful sports festival ever in every aspect,” and added, “We plan to devote all wisdom and capabilities to thorough preparation.”
