Dragonfly Challenges the MMORPG Market in Partnership with Entrance

Dragonfly, the first FPS game developer in Korea, announced on the 15th that it has signed a contract with mobile game developer Entrunce for MMORPG game development and joint marketing.

The purpose of this contract is a business alliance for a joint game development project between the two companies. Both companies have already started the project, with significant progress made in game development, and aim to launch commercial service domestically in the second half of this year through mutual support and cooperation in planning, service, and joint marketing. Furthermore, they plan to begin global service starting with Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau in the first half of next year, followed by a worldwide launch in the second half.

Through this project, Dragonfly breaks the prejudice of handling only a single genre and takes on a new challenge in the MMORPG field, diversifying its genres. Dragonfly, with extensive experience in various game developments, and Entrunce, with high expertise in mobile game development and operation, are expected to showcase a high-quality work by implementing high-quality graphics and securing stability despite the high graphics. They also expect to secure a new user base through this game, increasing the potential for revenue growth.

The MMORPG genre has shown stable growth worldwide in recent years, and especially due to the increased demand for non-face-to-face activities caused by COVID-19, it is growing even faster. It is the most competitive genre among users and also the most competitive in terms of business in Korea.

Entrunce is a company with many years of experience in mobile game development and operation. ‘DK Mobile: Return of the Hero,’ a mobile reinterpretation of the online game of the same name released in 2012, is Entrunce’s representative work recognized for its gameplay and competitiveness. After its domestic release in March 2021, it ranked 5th in Google Play game sales within a week and recorded sales exceeding 10 billion KRW from a single game. Based on Entrunce’s strengths, Dragonfly is expected to enhance its competitiveness in the MMORPG market.

A Dragonfly official stated, “We are confident to be working with Entrunce, which has rich experience in the MMORPG genre at the time we are starting a new challenge in this genre,” and added, “Through this project, both companies are expected to combine their strengths and establish a foundation for joint growth.”

Meanwhile, Dragonfly is preparing joint development and domestic and overseas services for new releases in PC and mobile sectors not only with Entrunce but also with various game companies such as Funcrew. Additionally, it is producing content with companies like CJ ENM and Breadhammer based on IP, and is expanding its business into the bio sector, including digital therapeutics, to diversify its revenue streams.
