Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station "Please Keep One Pump Truck in Your Vehicle"

On the 15th, the Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station urged the public to equip their vehicles with 'vehicle fire extinguishers.'

Vehicle fires spread very quickly due to fuel and other factors, and the combustion expands rapidly. Therefore, it is crucial to have a fire extinguisher in the vehicle to promptly suppress the fire at its initial stage.

Vehicle fire extinguishers can be easily purchased online, at large supermarkets, or from fire equipment retailers.

Currently, the law requires vehicles with a seating capacity of 7 or more passengers, including passenger cars and light vans, to be equipped with fire extinguishers. However, starting from December 2024, this requirement will be expanded to include vehicles with a seating capacity of 5 or more passengers.

A fire official stated, “In the early stages of a vehicle fire, a vehicle fire extinguisher is as powerful as a fire engine pump,” and urged, “Please equip your vehicle with a fire extinguisher for the safety of yourself and your family.”
