Busan City Signs Agreement with Saha-gu for Construction and Operation of Seobusan Medical Center Busan City Hall.

This agreement was prepared to promise mutual cooperation between the two institutions for the smooth and prompt construction of Seobusan Medical Center. Mayor Park Hyung-jun and District Mayor Lee Gap-jun will attend the signing ceremony in person to sign the business agreement.

Once this agreement is signed, Busan City and Sahagu District will review the land sale and land swap method based on the appraisal amount for the prompt construction of Seobusan Medical Center, and promise mutual financial and administrative support for the smooth progress of the construction of Seobusan Medical Center.

The city expects this agreement to dispel concerns that the groundbreaking of Seobusan Medical Center could be delayed due to prolonged negotiations over the purchase and sale of the site between the city and Sahagu District.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “Seobusan Medical Center is a core project leading balanced development between the east and west and a long-cherished project for the citizens of the western Busan area. I promise the citizens that we will do our best to ensure its smooth establishment.” He added, “This agreement will be a good example of successful cooperation between local governments for the core project of building a public medical belt, and we will continue to strive to make Seobusan Medical Center a public medical institution loved by local citizens for a long time.”

Seobusan Medical Center, which has been under construction planning since 2016, aims to eliminate regional medical disparities between eastern and western Busan, strengthen the public health care system, and serve as a key public hospital in western Busan for emergency and disaster infectious disease response such as COVID-19.

The construction site is located in Sinpyeong-dong, Sahagu District, with a site area of 15,750㎡ and a total floor area of 32,773㎡. It will be a comprehensive hospital-level public medical facility with 300 beds, consisting of one basement floor and five above-ground floors, and will be promoted through a lease-type private investment project. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025 and be completed in 2027.
