Unique Venue Discovered in Boseong: An Unusual Event Location

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 9th that Jeiamsan Natural Recreation Forest has been selected as a Jeollanam-do Unique Venue.

A Unique Venue is a place where one can experience the city's distinctive concept or unique charm that can only be felt there, and it is a facility capable of hosting events such as MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) even if it is not a specialized facility.

Jeollanam-do selected and announced the 'Jeollanam-do Unique Venue' for the first time this year to strengthen the competitiveness of the MICE industry.

With this Unique Venue selection, Boseong-gun will receive incentives from Jeollanam-do for small and medium-sized meetings held by MICE organizations and groups.

In addition, it can receive various support such as the awarding of the Unique Venue certificate, capacity building, utilization for promotional marketing, wellness experience operations, additional MICE incentive benefits, participation in exhibitions and fairs, and it will also be nominated as a candidate for the ‘2023 Korea Unique Venue’ selected by the Korea Tourism Organization.

Jeiamsan Natural Recreation Forest scored high due to its facilities including a large auditorium equipped with a stage and a beam projector, seminar rooms, barrier-free deck paths, lodging facilities made of cypress wood, and a campground with 51 sites.

It also received favorable evaluations for its capacity to accommodate up to 3,000 people, experience programs such as eco-adventure, zipline, and bear sledding, a lawn plaza, a jokgu (Korean foot volleyball) court, and the Jeonnam Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center, which has been selected as a wellness tourism destination for four consecutive years.

A representative of Boseong-gun stated, “Jeiamsan Natural Recreation Forest is a Unique Venue rich in natural ecological tourism resources, and lodging tourism, recreation, and experience programs create synergy with related facilities, making it a place with great potential for the development of the MICE industry.” He added, “We will actively take the lead in attracting small and medium-sized MICE industries by leveraging the strengths of Jeiamsan Natural Recreation Forest.”

Meanwhile, Jeiamsan Natural Recreation Forest was selected as a ‘Korea Unique Venue’ by the Korea Tourism Organization in 2019 and received the ‘Star of Korean Tourism’ award in 2018.
