KCCI New Entrepreneurship Council
First Role in Together Sharing Project
Chairman Chung Eui-sun: "Change for a Sustainable Community"
Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 14th that it donated a recovery bus for firefighters at disaster sites to the National Fire Agency.
Hyundai Motor Group, together with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Hyosung Group, held the 1st Together Sharing Project event at the Ulsan Northern Fire Station. This event was part of the Together Sharing Project organized by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s ‘New Entrepreneurial Spirit Council,’ with Hyundai Motor Group playing a key role in the first project. Hyosung Group donated funds for scholarships for children of fallen firefighters and for improving the working conditions of active firefighters.
The event was attended by Nam Hwa-young, Acting Commissioner of the National Fire Agency, Lee Jae-soon, Head of Ulsan Fire Headquarters, and other National Fire Agency officials, as well as Chung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, Chey Tae-won, Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Cho Hyun-joon, Chairman of Hyosung Group, and Ahn Hyo-dae, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Ulsan City.
On the 14th, participants are taking a commemorative photo at the Together Sharing Project held at Ulsan Bukbu Fire Station. Hyundai Motor Group took on the project to encourage active firefighters who protect public safety at domestic disaster sites and to provide practical support. Chairman Chung Eui-sun, who has shown consistent interest in the dedication of firefighters, actively proposed the initiative.
The recovery buses delivered this time include one zero-emission hydrogen electric bus and eight premium buses. Including special installation costs, the total value is approximately 5.2 billion KRW. Since there are only 10 vehicles nationwide where firefighters can rest during fire suppression and disaster relief activities, it was decided to provide remodeled buses this time.
The recovery buses are equipped with capsule-type premium seats, medical equipment, and oxygen supply facilities. Various medical and convenience features will be installed reflecting the opinions of firefighters. At the meeting, Chairman Chung said, "Putting the safety of the people first, I believe that thanks to the dedication and efforts of firefighters who silently do their best in harsh conditions, we can all live a ‘safe today.’ I sincerely thank all firefighters."
He added, "It is a meaningful experience to participate in a project that creates social value together with fellow businesspeople in Ulsan, the city that made Hyundai Motor Group what it is today. I hope that more changes for a sustainable community will continue to happen through the New Entrepreneurial Spirit Council."

We will find ways to improve firefighters’ welfare and contribute to seriously solving social issues from a corporate perspective."
Nam Hwa-young, Acting Commissioner of the National Fire Agency, said, "I believe many people sympathize with the decision to make public safety and the welfare of firefighters the first theme of the ‘Together Sharing Project’ promoted by the New Entrepreneurial Spirit Council, and I am deeply grateful.
