The 11th Diaspora Film Festival (hosted by Incheon Metropolitan City / organized by Incheon Film Commission) announced on the 20th (Monday) that it is recruiting migrant online promoters and volunteer assistants called ‘D-eyes’.
The migrant online promoters program was designed to vividly convey the diverse programs of the Diaspora Film Festival in the languages of migrants and to provide opportunities for more active participation as key agents. The target participants are migrants currently residing in Incheon, and about 10 people will be selected based on factors such as their level of SNS activity and understanding of the event. From April to November, participants will directly create and post translated content in Korean and their native languages about various news, programs, and events of the Diaspora Film Festival, engaging in promotional activities.
Selected migrant online promoters will receive meeting attendance fees and activity allowances, certificates of completion, and official festival merchandise. They will also have priority access to all festival programs, and outstanding participants will be awarded after the activities conclude. The application period is from March 20th (Monday) to April 7th (Friday), and applications can be submitted via the online link posted on the festival website. Migrants residing in Incheon who have personal SNS accounts can apply regardless of age.
Meanwhile, the Diaspora Film Festival is also recruiting volunteer assistants called ‘D-eyes’ through the festival website until April 7th (Friday). ‘D-eyes’ means the festival’s eyes (D-eyes) and also stands for Diaspora-is, symbolizing freedom to express talent and potential by directly participating in the event. Activities include supporting programs and events, guiding and operating screening rooms, assisting projection, promoting the festival, and documenting the event.
Lee Hyuksang, programmer of the Diaspora Film Festival, said, “As the Diaspora Film Festival celebrates its 11th edition this year, we aim to create a channel for migrants living together in the diaspora city of Incheon to voice their opinions more actively.” He added, “The migrant online promoters and volunteer assistants ‘D-eyes’ can personally experience the vitality of the festival and freely lead their activities. We look forward to the participation of many people interested in film and the local community.”
