Ayoung FBC Releases Limited Edition 'Piper Hijik Ohr Seri 1982 Diptyque'

Ayung FBC announced on the 14th that it will release a limited quantity of the premium vintage champagne from the champagne brand Piper-Heidsieck, ‘Piper-Heidsieck Hors-s?rie 1982 Dyptique’.

The Hors-s?rie 1982 Dyptique consists of two types of vintage champagnes from Piper-Heidsieck, widely known as Marilyn Monroe's champagne: Brut Sauvage 1982 and Hors-s?rie 1982. This is the second vintage champagne creation presented by the cellar master of the champagne house, Emilien Bouyer, and only 500 sets will be released worldwide.

The most notable feature of the Hors-s?rie 1982 Dyptique is the comparative tasting of two old vintage champagnes aged for 40 years but with different aging methods. Brut Sauvage 1982 underwent 10 years of lees aging, disgorgement in 1992, and 30 years of cork aging, while Hors-s?rie 1982 experienced a long 40-year lees aging. The vintage (1982), blend ratio (60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay), and dosage method are all the same.

Although both champagnes in the Dyptique have the same aging period, each embodies its own style in taste. Brut Sauvage 1982 highlights the purity and elegance of the champagne’s aroma. It features lively bubbles, a solid structure felt in the mouth, and a golden color close to copper. The finish is long, with notes of cream, chestnut honey, slight spiciness, followed by vanilla and nutmeg. Hors-s?rie 1982 begins with a harmonious aroma of plum, kumquat, dried pineapple, and fresh quince, followed by hints of ginger and bergamot. It offers a unique and rich flavor with a blend of roasted coffee, toast, and minerality.

Out of the 500 sets of Hors-s?rie 1982 Dyptique worldwide, only 60 sets will be sold domestically, and separately, 240 bottles of the single Hors-s?rie 1982 are also available in limited quantity. The prices are in the 2 million KRW range for the 1982 Dyptique and in the 1 million KRW range for the single Hors-s?rie 1982. They can be purchased at Wine Nara direct stores, major department stores, and key wine shops.
