Han Dong-hoon, Minister of Justice, who is on a business trip to Europe, visited the Federal Ministry of the Interior in Berlin, Germany, on the 13th (local time) and held a meeting with Deputy Minister Rita Schwarzel?hr-Sutter, the Ministry of Justice announced on the 14th.

The German Federal Ministry of the Interior is the main agency responsible for public security, constitutional order protection, disaster management, and immigration policy. Minister Han and Deputy Minister Sutter agreed that immigration policies, including attracting skilled workers, are essential for the continuous economic growth of both South Korea and Germany, which have similar economic structures, and that social integration is also important. They also shared current immigration policy issues of both countries, such as illegal stay problems.

Minister Han concluded his European business trip with a visit to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees in Nuremberg, Germany, and will return to Korea on the 15th.
