Professor Oh Je-hyeok of Chung-Ang University Hospital Emergency Medicine Department Receives Commendation from Minister of Health and Welfare

Professor Oh Je-hyeok of Chung-Ang University Hospital Emergency Medicine Department Receives Commendation from Minister of Health and Welfare Oh Je-hyeok, Professor of Emergency Medicine, Chung-Ang University Hospital.

On the 14th, Chung-Ang University Hospital announced that Professor Oh Je-hyeok of the Department of Emergency Medicine received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare. Professor Oh was recognized for his contributions to improving public health through the implementation of the Acute Cardiac Arrest Survey project.


The Acute Cardiac Arrest Survey is a nationally approved statistical project conducted to establish a surveillance system for the occurrence of acute cardiac arrest, survival outcomes, and treatment details, providing essential data for the formulation of related health policies and evaluation of emergency medical investment effectiveness.


Since January 2018, Professor Oh has served as a member, secretary, and chair of the Planning Committee of the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, organizing and hosting four symposia of the association. He has contributed to widely disseminating the latest knowledge on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) guidelines, methods, and education. Additionally, since 2021, he has participated as a member of the National Acute Cardiac Arrest Surveillance Advisory Committee, striving to improve public health. Professor Oh stated, "I will continue to work hard to improve the treatment and survival rates of acute cardiac arrest patients."


Professor Oh graduated from Chung-Ang University College of Medicine and currently serves as the head professor of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Chung-Ang University College of Medicine, as well as the head of the Emergency Medicine Department and Emergency Medical Center at Chung-Ang University Hospital. He holds positions such as member of the Publication and Academic Committee of the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine, chair of the Planning Committee of the Korean Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and treasurer of the Korean Society of Hypothermia Therapy. Through active research on adult and pediatric CPR, post-cardiac arrest syndrome, and hypothermia therapy, he is dedicated to improving the survival rates of acute cardiac arrest patients and the emergency medical system in Korea.
