Sectional Maximum Reduction of 0.6%p
KB Securities announced on the 14th that it will lower the interest rates on margin loans and stock-backed loans by 0.2% to 0.6%P by tier starting from the 1st of next month.
The highest tier interest rate will be reduced by 0.4%P from the current annual rate of 9.5% to 9.1%, which is the lowest level compared to the top five major securities firms.
.
The benchmark interest rates for securities firms' margin loans and stock-backed loans, such as negotiable certificates of deposit (CD) and commercial paper (CP), have shown a downward stabilization trend this year after peaking in December last year. Additionally, the social responsibility of financial companies toward financial consumers is being reconsidered.
The revised interest rates will be applied from April 1st; stock-backed loans will apply to new loans from April 1st, and margin loans will apply to purchases made from April 3rd based on the contract date (April 5th based on the settlement date).
A KB Securities official stated, “We decided to proactively lower the interest rates on margin loans and stock-backed loans again in March to provide practical support for our customers' financial activities,” adding, “We will continue to strive to enhance customer benefits.”
