Adding One Step to the Standard Four-Stage Process
Sports brand Puma's golf brand 'Cobra Golf' announced on the 14th that it will launch forged irons King Tour and King (MB·CB).
The new products consist of three types: traditional forged muscle back (MB), compact muscle cavity back (CB), and technical cavity back (King Tour). All are made using a forging process, characterized by a soft hitting feel, precision, and sleekness. With this, Cobra Golf has established the King Forged lineup along with the previously released King Forged TEC and TEC X.
Unlike other brands, Cobra Golf added one more step to the typical four-step process to enhance precision. First, the carbon steel billet is heated to 1200 degrees Celsius and then forged three times to shape the head. Then, it is refined under 1200 tons of pressure at 880 degrees Celsius, and finally, the fifth forging process is carried out at 700 degrees Celsius with 2000 tons of pressure. The five forging processes increase the density of the head, making the grain finer and creating a soft hitting feel.
A Cobra Golf representative said, "The five-step forging process completes the soft hitting feel of the King irons," adding, "It will provide high satisfaction to golfers who prefer forged irons."
