Panasonic's newly launched laptop model in Korea is attracting attention for its unique design.
According to Panasonic Korea's official Facebook on the 14th, the company is preparing to launch the laptop 'Let's Note' SV series in the domestic market.
This model is popular among office workers in Japan for its sturdy durability and expandability.
As the launch news spread, subtle reactions have appeared domestically. This is due to its thickness, which is about twice that of laptops released by Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, and its rugged design.
Let's Note boasts a lightweight body of less than 1 kg using a magnesium alloy body, but its thickness approaches 25 mm. Considering that premium laptops from LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics are less than 21 mm thick, this is quite thick. The Galaxy Book3 Pro, recently released by Samsung Electronics, is known to have a thickness of only 11.3 mm for the 14-inch (35.6 cm) model.
Netizens who saw the posting responded with comments such as "I thought this was an advertisement from 20 years ago," "It's surprising that this is a real product, not a promotional item," and "It looks like a huge electronic dictionary."
The reason the Let's Note SV series is thick is that, unlike Korea, where all ports are rapidly unified to Type-C, Japan still uses D-SUB connectors, RJ45 wired LAN, full-size HDMI, and supports various ports tailored to the Japanese environment. It is also known that a CD-ROM can be built in if the user desires.
It is also known for its excellent durability. It has passed tests such as a 100 kgf pressure vibration test and a 76 cm height drop test.
The official retail price has not been disclosed. However, since the local price is about 3 million KRW, it is expected to be at a similar level domestically. The Galaxy Book3 Pro can be purchased in Korea for between 1.88 million and 2.89 million KRW depending on storage capacity.
