LG CNS announced on the 14th that it will start a next-generation enterprise resource planning (ERP) project in collaboration with SAP.
The next-generation ERP is an evolved concept of ERP, a system that integrates and manages all business operations such as finance, procurement, production, and sales. It features agility to quickly respond to changes in the business environment and continuity to maintain uninterrupted service even in the event of system failures.
On the 10th, LG CNS signed a strategic partnership memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SAP at SAP headquarters in Waldorf, Germany. The MOU signing ceremony was attended by Hyun Shin-kyun, CEO of LG CNS, and Christian Klein, CEO of SAP, among others.
The two companies will build and jointly operate a next-generation ERP system optimized for Korean companies using SAP’s ERP solution ‘S/4HANA’. They will also explore opportunities for new business development. Starting with LG affiliates, the two companies plan to expand business collaboration using S/4HANA globally.
To this end, LG CNS’s ERP consultants will complete training on S/4HANA-related technologies and operations at SAP’s global training center. LG CNS will combine new technologies such as application modernization (AM), artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning with ERP to innovate and operate ERP for Korean companies on a cloud-based platform stably.
In the second half of last year, LG CNS upgraded its existing ERP division to the ‘ERP Innovation Division’. ERP consultants in this organization possess technical expertise in cloud, AI, and global ERP. Through this partnership, SAP’s headquarters product development team and the ERP dedicated operation organization ECS (Enterprise Cloud Services) are expected to participate in the project.
CEO Hyun emphasized, “This partnership is an opportunity for LG CNS to elevate its next-generation ERP capabilities to a global level and for SAP to expand its customer touchpoints in the Korean market. Based on this, we will cooperate to support the DX innovation journeys of customers of both companies.”
