On the 14th, the Ministry of Education will hold the "6th Digital Talent Development 100-Person Debate (Forum)" in collaboration with Ewha Womans University Future Education Research Institute.

This debate, themed "How Will Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Affect Education?", will take place at Ewha Womans University and will be attended by various education-related stakeholders including AI and software (SW) education experts, metropolitan and provincial education office officials, field teachers, students, and parents.


Participants will discuss the changes that generative AI, represented by ChatGPT, could bring to the educational field and ways to productively utilize it.


Before the main presentations, Jeong Jeyoung, director of the Ewha Womans University Future Education Research Institute, will present on "Trends in the Educational Use of GPT (ChatGPT)."


Following this, in the first keynote presentation, Professor Park Namgi from the Department of Education at Gwangju National University of Education will introduce the possibilities and limitations of school education in the era of generative AI, focusing on applications such as assessment and remote classes, and emphasize the importance of teacher training.


In the second keynote presentation, Shim Jaekyung, team leader at Microsoft Korea, will explain "The Future of AI in Education," discussing how AI like ChatGPT can contribute to the educational sector.


Next, Professor Moon Hyungnam from Sookmyung Women's University will address "The Advantages and Disadvantages of ChatGPT and Its Applications in Education," specifically examining prejudices and misunderstandings about ChatGPT, followed by an introduction to its application points and examples of its use in classes, highlighting its impact on education.


Deputy Minister Na Jubeom of the Ministry of Education stated, "ChatGPT will affect individuals' lives and society as a whole, and the educational field cannot be free from these changes," adding, "The Ministry of Education will continue to respond swiftly to digital new technologies including ChatGPT and strive to enable productive use of these technologies in educational settings."
