Jeju Coast Guard, Conducts Training to Enhance Coastal Rescue Boat Operation Skills

The Jeju Regional Coast Guard Agency (Chief Kim Inchang) announced on the 13th that from the 23rd of last month to the 8th, for about 14 days, they conducted teamwork training to strengthen the operational capabilities of high-speed boats and coastal rescue boats to prevent self-accidents during dispatch, targeting patrol vessels and police substations under the jurisdiction of the Jeju agency.

This training was promoted to provide in-depth education and practical field training so that frontline units can perform their duties perfectly in the event of incidents or accidents, aiming to improve individual capabilities and establish a self-accident prevention system.

The training was conducted for seven patrol vessels, including the Jeju and Seogwipo Coast Guard 3003 ships, and staff from six police substations.

The main content included theoretical education through video viewing on the effects of wave direction on the hull of high-speed boats and coastal rescue boats, vessel approach and departure during inspections and searches, navigation methods when seeking shelter due to worsening weather, and various accident cases.

Additionally, practical mastery training focused on the operation of high-speed boats and coastal rescue boats, including forward and reverse movement, zigzagging, docking methods, and crane operation, with an emphasis on cultivating operational personnel.

A Jeju Coast Guard official stated, “Through repetitive training, we will continuously enhance our capabilities, raise awareness to prevent accidents, and do our best to take the lead in proactive prevention.”
