Free Pet Care Service Provided During Visits
Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that starting next month, when the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo is held, it will operate the nation’s first free “Pet Dog Care Service” at tourist sites nationwide.
The Pet Dog Care Service will be available without breaks from April 1 to October 31 during the 2023 Garden Expo period. Visitors can make a reservation online in advance and then visit the pet dog playground at the West Gate of Suncheonman National Garden.
At the pet dog playground staffed by professionals, users can utilize the care service for up to 3 hours per day. Entry to the playground is limited to dogs that meet the usage criteria, including pet registration, weighing less than 12 kg and under 40 cm in height, and completion of vaccinations.
Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu of Suncheon has shown dedication to creating a pet-friendly city, often quoting Mahatma Gandhi’s saying, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
Mayor Noh said, “This free pet dog care service is part of Suncheon City’s pro-pet policy,” adding, “We will continue to promote pet policies to create a Suncheon where people and pets coexist.”
