Boseong-gun Holds Fisheries Adjustment Committee Meeting for Marine and Fisheries Projects

Marine Fisheries Project Budget Application Amount 137.3 Billion Won

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it held the Fisheries Adjustment Committee on the 10th to review marine and fisheries projects for 2023-2024.

The requested budget amount for Boseong-gun's 2024 marine and fisheries projects is approximately KRW 137.3 billion for 45 cases across 25 types, including national and provincial subsidies. This amount is KRW 105.4 billion more than the KRW 31.9 billion approved for projects last year.

The committee reviewed the feasibility of projects applied for by towns and townships and those planned by the county, prioritized beneficiaries of marine and fisheries projects, and examined plans for the use and development of fishing grounds and licensed aquaculture farms.

For 2023 projects, a total of 18 types amounting to about KRW 2.8 billion, including the establishment of a fishing vessel accident prevention system, were confirmed. Additionally, the 2023 fishing ground cleanup and maintenance plan (160 cases, 773 hectares) and the 2023-2024 fishing ground and licensed aquaculture farm use and development plan (22 cases, 243 hectares) were reviewed.

A Boseong-gun official stated, “The budget plan approved through this review will be sent to the central government via Jeollanam-do by the 27th. Once the central government allocates the final budget, project beneficiaries will be confirmed according to priority, and projects will be implemented in accordance with the regulations on national subsidy management and relevant project guidelines.”

Meanwhile, the Boseong-gun Fisheries Adjustment Committee is chaired by Kim Gyu-ung, Deputy Governor of Boseong, and consists of 15 members including representatives of local fishermen and fisheries experts from related organizations.
