At 10 a.m. that day, Mayor Kim met directly with 20 local residents at the district office's 5th floor book cafe to have a conversation and listen to their opinions.
The meeting was held in a free atmosphere without a fixed format. Residents asked questions, and Mayor Kim personally responded to each opinion.
A resident from Ujangsan-dong said, "There is a playground in the neighborhood, but it lacks play facilities that children enjoy, so improvement is needed."
Mayor Kim responded, "As a father raising two elementary school children, I understand well the importance of play facilities where children can happily run and play freely," and added, "We will create playgrounds with attractions like zip lines that children enjoy in all 20 neighborhoods within the district."
Mayor Kim actively answered residents' questions in detail, even well beyond the scheduled time, showing a proactive attitude toward directly resolving complaints.
If immediate answers were difficult, he promised that the relevant departments would conduct a thorough review and provide responses later.
The "Daily Tae-woo Resident Communication Train," the name given to this "Resident Communication Forum," was directly planned by Mayor Kim to attentively listen to diverse voices of local residents and promptly resolve the inconveniences they actually experience.
The resident meetings are held daily at 10 a.m. in the district office main building's 5th floor book cafe. Starting this year with meetings with community leaders, Mayor Kim plans to meet directly with about 29,900 residents next year, including childcare facility workers and traditional market merchants, to communicate.
Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, "Please encourage the parts we are doing well and freely tell us any shortcomings so that we can immediately reflect them in district administration," and added, "We will listen more attentively to residents' valuable opinions and carry out administration for the residents of Gangseo District."
