Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station announced on the 13th that it operates a year-round reward system for reporting illegal acts related to fire facilities.
The reward system for reporting illegal acts was established to raise awareness among facility managers and to spread safety consciousness.
The reporting targets include multi-use establishments, cultural and assembly facilities, sales facilities, transportation facilities, and lodging facilities.
Reportable matters include ▲closure or blockage of fire facilities ▲leaving fire facilities blocked or in a malfunctioning state ▲closure or blockage of fire doors ▲closure or blockage of corridors and stairway entrances, among others.
Anyone who witnesses illegal acts can report them within 48 hours by attaching evidence to a separate report form and submitting it via the internet, fax, mail, or by visiting the relevant fire station in person.
Kim Young-il, Chief of Gwangsan Fire Station, said, “We urge facility managers to refrain from illegal acts to prevent casualties in case of fire,” and added, “We ask for citizens’ participation to eradicate illegal acts.”
