Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 13th that it is recruiting applicants for the 2023 Hope House Vacant House Regeneration Project until the 24th.
The Hope House Vacant House Regeneration Project remodels vacant houses in the area and provides them free of charge for four years to vulnerable groups such as those with housing difficulties, returnees to farming or rural areas, job-seeking youth, and newlyweds, offering them a place to live.
In this project, owners of vacant houses that have not been occupied or used for more than six months will receive up to 25 million KRW per house for remodeling (with a mandatory self-payment of at least 5%).
Last year, the county selected 8 houses and supported free rental, and this year plans to secure an additional 4 houses, selecting a total of 12 houses for support.
Owners of vacant houses who wish to apply for the project can visit the local eup/myeon administrative welfare center in person by the 24th to submit their application.
Application forms can be downloaded from the county website’s notices and announcements section or obtained at the eup/myeon administrative welfare centers.
A county official stated, “We plan to expand the vacant house regeneration project to achieve the dual goals of utilizing vacant houses and realizing housing welfare,” and added, “We ask for the interest and support of vacant house owners.”
