The Gyeonggi Provincial Animal Hygiene Testing Laboratory announced on the 13th that "starting in March, it will supply the powdered beneficial microorganism 'Jalkkeumi Probiotics' to farms affected by avian influenza and small-scale or vulnerable poultry farms."

'Jalkkeumi Probiotics' is a powdered product developed by the Gyeonggi Provincial Animal Hygiene Testing Laboratory, containing the probiotic Lactobacillus plantarum GVS-1, designed for easy addition to feed. It has a shelf life of about one year, making long-term storage and use convenient.

This year, the province plans to provide approximately 70 tons free of charge to 262 farms, including those affected by highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and small-scale or vulnerable poultry farms.

Lee Gyu-hyun, director of the Animal Hygiene Testing Laboratory, stated, "The beneficial microorganisms we developed are expected to prevent livestock diseases such as avian influenza and contribute to increased farm income through improved productivity." He added, "In particular, we will expand the supply of beneficial microorganisms to help resolve farmers' concerns related to odor complaints."
