Elementary School 'Avengers' Appear in Ulsan...Nation's First Recruitment of Child Safety Guardians

Children Safety Avengers Protect Safe Villages

100 Ulsan Elementary Students from Grades 4 to 6 Selected

A young ‘Security Officer’ will appear in Ulsan.

From the 13th to the 31st, Ulsan City will recruit 100 ‘Children Safety Avengers’ targeting 4th to 6th graders in elementary schools in the Ulsan area.

This is promoted as a special policy of the Ulsan-type Safety Security Officer. It is the first children’s safety security officer organization formed nationwide, and they will find and report safety hazards such as illegal parking violations around schools, participate in promoting local safety culture, and engage in safety experience activities.

To apply, download the application form and consent form from the Ulsan City website, fill them out, and submit them via email.

Ulsan City will review the applicants and announce the selected list on April 14th through the Ulsan City website. After pre-education on April 29th, activities will begin.

Selected children will receive a letter of appointment in the name of the Mayor of Ulsan, a Safety Security Officer ID card in the name of the Minister of the Interior and Safety, activity supplies (clothing, bag, etc.), and recognition of volunteer hours.

An official from Ulsan City said, “The Safety Avengers are expected to be a valuable activity that fosters accident prevention and a sense of belonging to the local community among children.”

The Safety Security Officer system was introduced by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in 2018 to raise interest in safety, and currently, 229 adult safety security officers are active in Ulsan.

The name Children Safety Avengers is derived from the concept of ‘heroes protecting the Earth’ appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film series, which is familiar to children.
