Nation's Largest Scale with 4 Players, Pillars of South Korean Football
Four players from the ‘Treasure Island Namhae Sports Club’ in Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, have been selected for the ‘KFA Golden Age National Team’ operated by the Korea Football Association.
The ‘KFA Golden Age National Team’ is a youth (ages 8?15) development program aimed at nurturing promising talents who will lead Korean football, and it is considered the top-level team in the country.
The Korea Football Association measures the skills of Golden Age players through the youth capability data measurement system called ‘Golden Pass,’ and based on this data, discovers and manages outstanding players to cultivate future national team members.
With four players joining the ‘KFA Golden Age National Team’ from Treasure Island Namhae Sports Club, it has the highest number of selected players among all general and professional youth teams combined.
Four players from the ‘Treasure Island Namhae Sports Club’ in Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam, were selected for the ‘KFA Golden Age National Team’ operated by the Korea Football Association.
Park Geonmin, Lee Donggwan, Kim Jeongeum, and Park Junbeom, who grew up in Namhae inspired by players like national team member Kim Minjae (Haeseong Middle School), who gained attention at the 2022 World Cup, and Kim Dohyuk (Namhae Elementary School) of Incheon United, are currently attending Idong Middle School in Namhae-gun and actively playing as members of Treasure Island Namhae Sports Club.
Player Park has a well-balanced physique and excellent game management sense, capable of playing in all positions.
Player Lee is noted for his accurate left-foot kicks and stable dribbling skills.
Player Kim is skilled at smartly managing the game through breakthroughs based on outstanding ball possession ability.
Player Park overwhelms opponents with exceptional speed and dazzling movements.
The Treasure Island Namhae Sports Club, a corporation selected in 2020 for the Korea Sports Council’s public sports club project, started operations and by the end of last year established a system connecting Namhae Elementary School (U-12) ? Idong Middle School (U-15) ? Changseon High School (U-18), strengthening the football foundation in Namhae-gun.
Originating from the Namhae Elementary School football team, Treasure Island Namhae Sports Club has completed the elementary-middle-high school linked system with the founding of the high school division at the end of last year, and plans to build a clubhouse scheduled for completion in December 2025, creating an environment comparable to professional teams.
Han Jeongcheol, the club representative, said, “It is very meaningful that the largest number of players from our Treasure Island Namhae Sports Club have been selected for the KFA Golden Age National Team,” and added, “We will do our utmost to support the players both materially and spiritually so that they can advance to university teams and professional teams when they become adults.”
