Free Coupon Issued for Booking 2 Reservations
On the 13th, CU announced that it is rebranding its ultra-low-cost parcel service, CU Kkiri Delivery, as Altteul Delivery and will hold the industry's first 2+1 parcel promotion until next month.
Altteul Delivery is a convenience store parcel service that utilizes CU's nationwide logistics network, allowing customers to send parcels at CU stores and pick them up at designated CU stores. It only handles small parcels weighing 5kg or less, and while the delivery time is slightly longer than regular parcels, the price is lower.
The price for parcels weighing over 500g and up to 1kg is 2,100 KRW, making it the cheapest parcel shipping rate in Korea. Other weight categories are also half the price of regular parcels: 1,800 KRW for parcels 500g or less, and 2,700 KRW for parcels over 1kg. According to last year's usage data by parcel weight, parcels weighing 500g or less accounted for 63% of total usage, the largest share. Parcels weighing over 500g up to 1kg accounted for 21%, and those over 1kg accounted for 16%.
When customers make two reservations and complete two store drop-offs for Altteul Delivery via the CU app PocketCU, a free coupon usable regardless of weight is automatically issued. Sending three parcels weighing 5kg each at the regular rate of 2,700 KRW would cost a total of 8,100 KRW, but with the uniform price and 2+1 promotion applied, customers can use the service at a 56% discount for 3,600 KRW. This means parcels at the maximum acceptable weight can be sent for 1,200 KRW each.
A BGF Retail official said, “In recent years, as secondhand trading has become more active, demand for small parcels has concentrated on convenience store parcel services, causing the related market to grow rapidly. Altteul Delivery will continue to enhance service quality by reflecting customer needs and strengthen differentiated benefits.”
