Gyeonggi Province will start supporting corporate investment funds from this year through the existing 'Technology Doctor System.'
The Technology Doctor program provides tailored, one-on-one, on-site support by field experts (Technology Doctors) in stages for small and medium manufacturing enterprises facing various difficulties such as product development and process improvement.
The main projects include ▲'On-site Technical Support for Corporate Issues,' which diagnoses company problems and suggests solutions ▲'SME Technical Support,' which assists with process improvement or prototype production over four months ▲and the 'Stepwise Verification Support' program, which supports testing, analysis, design, and simulation during the technical support process.
The Technology Doctor program especially offers rapid corporate support through the so-called 3S: Speed (quick and simple application for SMEs with technical issues), Smart (customized on-site support by experts), and Synergy (linking Technology Doctors to other projects).
Last year, Company A, a manufacturer of air purification ventilation systems located in Paju-si, developed lift function application technology for heat exchangers (components that block harmful gases, odors, and fine dust when indoor and outdoor air flows) through the Technology Doctor SME Technical Support. By applying the lift function to the existing heat exchanger, it became possible to lower and raise it from the floor, improving installation and maintenance convenience. Additionally, the reduction in component size increased production volume by 1.5 times, and about 15 billion KRW in deliveries have been confirmed for this year.
Company B, a manufacturing company located in Goyang-si, developed and filed a patent for fixed and vehicle-mounted waterproof license plate recognition cameras used by overseas police with the support of technology development. The camera is installed on top of police vehicles to recognize license plates of other vehicles and is designed to inject nitrogen gas inside the camera to prevent moisture and condensation. This product is exported to the U.S., Australia, and Europe, expecting annual sales of 500 million KRW.
This year, the province will newly establish and operate a commercialization verification support program through a funding creation project under the Technology Doctor's 'Stepwise Verification Support.'
This will enable companies to establish new business strategies based on reliable investment attraction and investment funds.
Kim Hyun-dae, Director of the Future Growth Industry Bureau of the province, emphasized, "We will further strengthen on-site technical support to address the technical difficulties of small and medium manufacturing enterprises in Gyeonggi Province and actively support the enhancement of technological competitiveness of local companies in line with the digital transformation era."
