Terror at Lee Jae-myung's Parents' Grave?..."Mound Dug Up, Stone with Strange Writing Buried" (Comprehensive)

Yeo "Have we regressed to an era where shamans run rampant?"
Investigative authorities must conduct swift and strict investigations

It has been reported that the burial mound of Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and his parents was disturbed. Opinions have been raised that this act is intended to influence Lee through shamanistic means.

On the 12th, Lee posted on social media (SNS), ". What does it mean when someone, without the descendants knowing, digs holes in the burial mound and around it and buries stones with such inscriptions?" He also wrote, "What does it mean to press down the mound so much that it becomes lower (as if some people jumped on top of the mound)?"

The post, accompanied by several photos, showed a Chinese character phrase starting with 生明 (Saengmyeong, meaning 'life' and 'bright'). The last character of the three-character phrase was blurred and could not be identified.

Although Lee did not disclose whose burial mound it was, it was soon revealed that the mound belonged to his parents. Regarding this, Lee Kyung, the Democratic Party’s full-time spokesperson, wrote on SNS, "Someone dug around the burial mound of Leader Lee Jae-myung’s parents and buried stones with strange inscriptions," adding, "They stepped on the mound and placed heavy stones on it. It is horrifying."

On Lee’s SNS, comments related to this incident included statements such as "It means to cut off the descendants’ lifeline and cause death," and "These are evil and wicked people."

In response, Lee requested further explanation, saying, "I want to know the detailed meaning." Comments on Lee’s SNS suggested that this act might be part of a type of curse ritual.

The Democratic Party urged a swift and strict investigation into the incident.

Im Oh-kyung, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, said, "There are signs of a terror attack on the leader’s parents’ gravesite," and expressed anger at the "disgraceful behavior of attacking even the graves of the deceased to target the leader of the main opposition party."

Spokesperson Im added, "It is shocking that shamanistic methods were even used in this terror," and expressed concern, "Has South Korea regressed to a pre-modern era where shamans run rampant?"

He continued, "Criticism of the opposition leader is possible, but there are limits," and urged, "We hope the investigative authorities immediately and thoroughly identify who committed this terror and who is behind it."
