Kim Hae-young "Feeling ashamed and devastated that Lee Jae-myung is the party leader"

Yoon Young-chan "If I or Those Around Me Burdened the Deceased, We Must Take Responsibility"

As the former chief secretary, who was a close aide during Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung's tenure, passed away, Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, suffered a political blow. Within the Democratic Party, calls for Lee's accountability appear to be intensifying.

On the 12th, former Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Hae-young posted on social media (SNS), "As a party member, I feel endless shame and despair that a person like Leader Lee is the head of the Democratic Party," adding, "There is a saying that one person's life is heavier than the entire Earth. If the party continues to shield Lee Jae-myung even in the current situation, the Democratic Party's life will come to an end."

Although Kim did not specifically mention the death of Lee's close aide, his post is interpreted as raising Lee's responsibility in connection with the deceased's death. Furthermore, it serves as a warning that if the Democratic Party responds to the political situation by shielding Lee through parliamentary tactics, it may face downfall.

Democratic Party lawmaker Yoon Young-chan expressed condolences for the deceased on SNS the previous day while emphasizing Lee's moral responsibility.

Yoon said, "What was the cause that forced that person to give up the only life they had and leave their family, which was the reason for their existence, in such pain? If, as Leader Lee said, it was due to the prosecution's excessive investigation, it should be revealed quickly. However, if the leader himself or those around him caused burdens to the deceased, the leader must take responsibility."

Yoon added, "He was someone who worked for him for over ten years," and said, "It is only right to bear moral responsibility. That is what being human is."
