It has been reported that the burial mound of Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and his parents was dug up. There are opinions that this is intended to influence Lee through shamanistic means.
On the 12th, Lee posted on social media (SNS), "
The post, accompanied by several photos, showed a Chinese character word starting with 生明 (Saengmyeong, meaning 'life' and 'bright'). The last character of the three-character word was blurred and could not be identified.
Lee did not reveal whose burial mound it was, but it was soon reported that the mound belonged to Lee and his parents. Regarding this, Lee Kyung, the Democratic Party's full-time spokesperson, wrote on SNS, "Someone dug up all around the burial mound of Leader Lee Jae-myung's parents and buried stones with strange writings," adding, "They stepped on the mound and placed heavy stones on it. It's horrifying."
On Lee's SNS, a comment related to this stated, "It means to cut off the descendants' lifeline and cause death," and called those responsible "evil and wicked people."
In response, Lee requested further explanation, saying, "I want to know the detailed meaning." On Lee's SNS, opinions were also presented in comments suggesting that this act is a form of curse or shamanistic ritual.
