A total of 229 SK Innovation members collected over 1,030 relief items, including winter clothing, blankets, sleeping bags, and heat packs, from the 22nd to the 28th of last month. These supplies are scheduled to be delivered to the earthquake victims in Turkey through the Turkish Embassy this month.
The campaign began with a suggestion from an employee posted on the company bulletin board. As donations for Turkey increased recently, concerns about the quality of the donated items arose, leading to the proposal to send relief supplies that the victims could use immediately.
Accordingly, SK Innovation donated only new, unused clothing items that come into direct contact with the skin, considering the local health and hygiene conditions. For winter supplies, even used items were accepted after thorough inspection of their condition.
In addition to the supplies, SK Innovation members also delivered handwritten letters containing messages of comfort and hope. An SK Innovation official said, "We collected and donated new clothes with our parents and close neighbors to offer a small help to the victims who have suffered great physical and emotional wounds," adding, "We hope that a small spark of hope can be lit amid the difficulties."
