Ulsan Free Economic Zone Launches Major Overhaul of 'Cadastral Surveying'

Ulsan Free Economic Zone Authority Conducts Comprehensive Survey of Geodetic Control Points

Total of 223 Points Including UNIST and Two Industrial Complexes

A large-scale cadastral surveying maintenance project for land and buildings in the Ulsan Free Economic Zone will be carried out.

The Ulsan Free Economic Zone Authority announced on the 11th that it will conduct the "2023 Comprehensive Survey and Maintenance Project of Cadastral Survey Control Points" from March until the end of this year to ensure the accuracy of cadastral surveys and protect citizens' property rights.

The survey targets a total of 223 points: 143 points in Ulju-gun High-Tech Valley and UNIST, and 80 points in Nam-gu Techno General Industrial Complex.

The Ulsan Free Economic Zone Authority will conduct a full survey jointly with the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation to check for loss or damage caused by various projects such as road excavation and water and sewage systems.

In cases where cadastral control points have disappeared or been damaged, or where there are insufficient cadastral reference points, additional cadastral control points will be installed following procedures (surveying, performance announcement, and public notice).

The reinstalled cadastral control points will be posted on the website for public viewing and will be utilized for future cadastral surveys.

Types and Materials of Geodetic Control Points.

"Cadastral control points" are basic surveying markers installed on mountain peaks, roads, bridges, etc., to conduct cadastral surveys such as land movement, land boundary, and subdivision surveys. They are classified into cadastral triangulation points, cadastral triangulation auxiliary points, and cadastral reference points.
