A fire broke out at a commercial building in Naju, Jeollanam-do, but police officers and citizens worked together to extinguish the fire.
According to the Jeollanam-do Police Agency on the 10th, a video titled "A police officer running with a bucket" was uploaded to the Jeollanam-do Police YouTube and KakaoTalk channel the day before.
The video shows that on the afternoon of the 7th, while responding to a theft report, a nearby citizen pointed to a certain spot and alerted the police officer.
At the spot the citizen pointed to, there was a building partition wall, and thick smoke along with flames was starting from inside the partition.
The police officer quickly and calmly began extinguishing the fire using the firefighting equipment installed in the patrol car, while citizens watching brought fire extinguishers to assist.
Following the fire extinguishers, a citizen even brought a bucket of water to help put out the fire, demonstrating the heightened civic awareness.
Thanks to the many citizens who stepped forward to help, the fire was extinguished early before the arrival of the 119 fire department, and it was resolved without major damage.
Due to the dry weather, it is a time when caution is needed as fires can easily occur.
Officer Jo Yubin of the Geumseong Police Substation, Naju Police Station, said, "Thanks to the help of many citizens, we were able to extinguish the fire and prevent a major disaster," and expressed gratitude to the citizens who assisted in putting out the fire.
