Gangseo Police Station Intensifies Crackdown on Traffic Violations Including Temporary Stop at Right Turns

On the 11th, the Gangseo Police Station announced that despite the enforcement of the revised Road Traffic Act regulations mandating a complete stop before turning right when the traffic light is red, violations continue to occur, prompting them to conduct guidance and intensive crackdowns. Violations of this traffic law will result in a fine of 60,000 KRW and 15 penalty points for passenger vehicles.

Kim Hee-kyung, head of the Traffic Division at Gangseo Police Station, explained, "We will continuously provide guidance and then enforce crackdowns to establish compliance with the law in order to prevent traffic accidents caused by some vehicles and motorcycles not following the regulations."

Gangseo-gu has seen a significant increase in vehicles due to the development of the Magok New Town, leading to a continuous rise in accidents and traffic violations. Accordingly, the Gangseo Police Station stated that, in cooperation with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, they are operating undercover patrol cars 24 hours a day to provide guidance and enforcement.

The Gangseo Police Station also mentioned that they will visit district offices, education offices, and various companies to promote and educate about traffic laws. Chief Kim requested cooperation, saying, "We ask citizens to report dangerous behaviors and traffic violations."
