Pulmuone Foods announced on the 10th that it has launched two types of Tonkotsu Ramen that capture the authentic taste of ramen specialty restaurants.
The new Tonkotsu Ramen products are convenient meals that allow consumers to enjoy the rich flavor of authentic Tonkotsu Ramen with short and simple preparation. They are offered in two varieties: a savory and rich Tonkotsu Ramen and a spicy Tonkotsu Ramen with added heat, so consumers can choose according to their preferences and taste.
The broth is made by simmering pork bones and various vegetables for a long time, maximizing the deep and rich soup flavor found in specialty ramen shops. During the broth-making process, garlic and ginger are used to remove any unpleasant odors, and miso and soy sauce are added to enhance umami, bringing out both a savory and clean taste. The noodles are thin fresh noodles that pair well with the ramen broth, made in a specialty shop style. Using Pulmuone’s hand-pulled noodle method, the dough is rolled and kneaded more than four times to create a chewy texture. Egg whites are added to the dough to complete noodles that retain the firm texture characteristic of authentic ramen.
When served with the included green onions and wood ear mushrooms, you can enjoy the subtle aroma of the green onions along with the unique crunchy texture of the wood ear mushrooms as a delicacy. Adding seaweed toppings, just like in ramen specialty restaurants, enhances the dish’s completeness. The cooking method is also simple. Put the ingredients into one pot, and once the water starts boiling, add the noodles and boil on medium-low heat for 50 seconds. Then turn off the heat and add the sauce to finish.
A Pulmuone Foods representative said, "We launched this new product so that customers can easily enjoy authentic Japanese ramen dishes, which they used to enjoy at Japanese specialty restaurants, at home." They added, "We plan to continue releasing new products focusing on unique global noodle dishes that are gaining popularity in Korea."
