Insurance Executive 'Suddenly' Touches Female Employee's Top... "Hands Were Cold"

Hungkuk Life Branch Manager Sexual Harassment Case Exposed
Put Hand Inside Clothes Saying "Childhood Prank"
Cover-up Suspicion and Secondary Harm... Ultimately Dismissed

An executive at an insurance company was caught sexually harassing employees by putting his hand inside their clothes. However, the executive gave an absurd explanation, claiming, "My hand was cold, so I was just playing around."

According to JTBC on the 9th, an incident occurred in January at a Heungkuk Life Insurance branch in Gyeonggi Province where branch manager Mr. A sexually harassed two employees. In the released footage, Mr. A approaches a female employee in the office and suddenly puts both of his hands inside the employee's outerwear.

Even though the employee pushed him away to reject him, Mr. A ignored her and only left after she forcefully pushed him off. He even did the same to another employee afterward.

There is also evidence that Mr. A tried to cover up the incident externally. A few days later, he apologized to the employees but reportedly told them not to disclose the matter, saying it could bring disadvantages to the branch.

According to JTBC, during a meeting on the 13th of last month, Mr. A said, "I don't know what actions headquarters will take. If this goes public, it won't be a simple issue."

At headquarters, executive Mr. B visited the branch to investigate the sexual harassment case. However, Mr. B made pressuring remarks, mentioning business performance. He said, "Why do you think I came? Didn't I come to make money? Why are you sitting around if you can't make money?" and "What kind of branch is this?"

Since the incident was not discussed, when the employees left the meeting room, Mr. B said he would fire Mr. A and the two victims. At that time, Mr. B scolded, "I will also fire the two (victims). The branch manager is a friend of thirty years, but I will fire him today. Does that make you feel better?"

Regarding why Mr. A put his hand inside the employees' outerwear, he explained, "The weather was cold, so my hands were cold. You know how we used to play when we were young, right?"

Heungkuk Life Insurance reportedly made Mr. A resign after the victim reported the case to the police. Mr. B was also dismissed due to secondary harassment.
