According to Mokpo Maritime Police on the 9th, until the 30th of this month, police officers working at local police boxes and patrol vessels will be subject to巡回 inspections on △operation methods of breathalyzers △designation status of persons responsible for breathalyzer management △safety management status of small fishing vessels in the jurisdiction.
In particular, focused training on drunk navigation crackdown procedures will be conducted for newly transferred police officers following the 2023 regular personnel appointments.
Additionally, as the number of fishing enthusiasts increases every spring, guidance and inspections will be carried out on maritime inspections of fishing vessels, maximum boarding capacity standards, and safety management during long-distance fishing operations.
A Mokpo Maritime Police official stated, “We will accurately familiarize ourselves with laws and procedures related to drunk navigation crackdowns and continuously strengthen the capabilities of field departments through regular training.”
