From March to November, Cheongsong-gun in Gyeongbuk Province operates a mobile laundry service targeting vulnerable groups such as elderly people with mobility difficulties and disabled individuals who have trouble doing laundry.
The mobile laundry service is run by the Cheongsong-gun Comprehensive Volunteer Center and uses a special 2.5-ton vehicle equipped with three washing machines and one dryer to wash and dry bulky items like large blankets that are difficult to clean at home.
In particular, the service circulates through eight towns and townships, operating more than four times a week, aiming to improve the hygiene of bedding and contribute to enhancing the immunity of local residents. It will also be utilized for disaster site recovery in the event of disasters and calamities, and efforts will be made to promote regional welfare.
County Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, “We will do our best to help create a hygienic and comfortable living environment for local residents through the promotion of the mobile laundry service.”
