The city shared the 2023 administrative policy directions with citizens and held a communication session to listen to and respond to constructive suggestions and daily life complaints regarding city administration.
During this Dialogue with Citizens, 20 policy inquiries and 95 suggestions were received. The majority of the complaints involved daily life inconveniences that residents had been experiencing.
The received issues included 22 cases of road improvements, 22 cases of park management, 7 cases related to safety, and 6 cases concerning welfare. All opinions submitted on-site and in writing will undergo thorough review by the relevant departments and be actively reflected in city administration.
Mayor Park, who received complaints on-site, instructed the relevant departments to take immediate improvement measures for simple daily life complaints that cause inconvenience.
For projects requiring mid- to long-term review and budget, he asked for residents’ understanding and consideration and promised to implement policies ensuring that the opinions of residents related to those complaints are duly reflected.
In particular, after hearing the distressing situation of a resident in Dongmyeong-dong who is struggling to live alone with their child after the spouse’s death, Mayor Park instructed the head of the relevant department on-site to carefully investigate the situation and report on possible support, demonstrating empathetic and considerate active communication administration.
At this event, 14 self-governing organizations from 14 towns and townships of Sinan County, which have sisterhood ties with Mokpo’s 23 administrative welfare centers, were invited.
This was arranged to form a consensus on the Mokpo-Sinan integration, led by the private sector as the first phase of the Muan Peninsula integration project, which is being promoted to achieve the 8th elected administration’s goal of “Building a Greater Mokpo that Attracts Youth.”
The Sinan County self-governing organizations introduced major attractions of each Sinan region and presented souvenirs, pledging to continue active exchanges between the two regions in various fields such as cultural exchange, direct agricultural product transactions, and volunteer work.
They also toured Mokpo’s representative tourist sites such as the Mokpo Marine Cable Car, Yudalsan Mountain, and Sihwa Village, spending time fostering harmony and mutual growth between the Mokpo and Sinan self-governing organizations.
Mayor Park Hong-ryul said, “This Dialogue with Citizens was a great opportunity to hear vivid voices from the field,” and added, “Over the past month, as we toured each of the 23 administrative welfare centers, I have deeply engraved the valuable opinions heard on-site in my heart and will actively reflect them in city administration.”
