Governor Kim San said, "On the occasion of Women's Day, we will create a work environment where women can work comfortably and establish a workplace culture of mutual respect and consideration."
Meanwhile, 'International Women's Day,' which marks its 115th anniversary this year, began in 1908 to honor American female workers who died in a fire at a poor working environment. In South Korea, it has been a legal commemorative day since 2018 to promote the realization of gender equality.
