CJ Olive Young Launches 'W Care' Service... Tapping into the 80 Trillion Femtech Market

Olive Young is accelerating the development of the ‘W Care’ market for women's health by incorporating 'Femtech.'

CJ Olive Young announced on the 9th that it will launch the menstrual cycle management service ‘W Care Service’ on its own application on the 10th and will carry out a large-scale campaign to promote W Care.

W Care encapsulates the meanings of ‘We, Woman, Wellness.’ For women who are interested in a healthy and beautiful lifestyle and consume proactively, Olive Young has been introducing a product line proposing healthy habits under the name W Care since last year.

To make it easy for customers to experience W Care, products are introduced in four categories. These include W Balance, which helps Y-zone care such as feminine cleansers for menstrual solutions like sanitary pads and pantyliners; W Cleansing, which suggests healthy love etiquette; W Love, which includes comfortable underwear; and W Wear.

Additionally, to provide customers with a more professional W Care experience, a new menstrual cycle management service called ‘W Care Service’ is being launched. By subscribing to the service on the Olive Young app, users can easily manage their menstrual cycle individually, including menstruation, ovulation, fertility, and premenstrual syndrome (PMS).

The W Care Service not only intuitively displays the predicted menstrual cycle but also recommends customized products along with comments that help with symptoms and health management for each cycle. Users can also set personalized notification messages to receive alerts for each scheduled date.

Femtech, a combination of female and technology, refers to technologies, products, and services for women's health, and the global market size is expected to reach approximately 80 trillion KRW by 2027. Olive Young plans to discover promising emerging brands and products for women's health and lead the popularization of the domestic W Care market.

Within this year, Olive Young plans to strengthen the service by adding widget functions to make the W Care service more convenient to use from the phone home screen. Along with video content promoting W Care, a large-scale campaign will also be launched. Olive Young has produced four web dramas realistically depicting women's experiences according to their menstrual cycles. The web dramas will be available from the 17th on Olive Young’s online mall, YouTube, and other social media channels.

Furthermore, from the 10th to the 16th, W Care’s main products will be available at up to 47% discounted prices at nationwide stores and the official online mall. Customers who purchase W Care products worth 15,000 KRW or more will receive a kit composed of various W Care product samples on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, customers who subscribe to the W Care service on the Olive Young app and enter the event by the 31st of this month will be eligible for a draw to win generous prizes.

An Olive Young official stated, “Olive Young plans to actively foster W Care as a key health sector trend keyword this year,” adding, “We will provide convenient services that meet customers’ demands for women’s health, discover excellent emerging brands and products, and lead the trend.”
