Kim Guk-jin Faces Off with Go Kyung-min on the Field... "Missed a Birdie by a Hair"

Intermediate Results up to Hole 14, 4 Strokes Behind

Kim Guk-jin and Go Kyung-min faced off in their first round competition of the year. In the match that progressed up to the 9th hole, Go Kyung-min, who showcased sharp shot skills, widened the gap against Kim Guk-jin and gained the upper hand.

In a video uploaded on the 7th to Kim Guk-jin TV, the two were seen resuming the game from the 10th hole following the first half. Go Kyung-min is a beautiful golfer known for appearing on JTBC Golf’s ‘Live Lesson 70’ and ‘Rediscovery of Golf.’ Up to that point, Kim Guk-jin was trailing by 2 strokes with a score of 3 over par.

The 10th hole (par 4), which started with Go Kyung-min’s refreshing tee shot, saw neither player reduce their strokes. Both Kim Guk-jin and Go Kyung-min’s third shots narrowly missed the hole on the right side, failing the birdie putt. Kim Guk-jin expressed his disappointment, saying, "I will aim for a birdie on the next hole."

Birdies were also hard to come by on the 11th hole (par 5) and 12th hole (par 4). At the teeing area of the 11th hole, Kim Guk-jin aimed a draw shot toward the right edge of the green, but the ball did not roll sufficiently onto the fairway and got caught on a mound, causing him to struggle from the start. He then missed the birdie putt and settled for par. Go Kyung-min also stopped his fourth shot right next to the hole and was satisfied with par.

The fortunes diverged at the 13th hole (par 4). Kim Guk-jin started off well with his tee shot landing in the middle of the field. However, his second shot failed to reach the green, putting him behind. He then attempted a skillful chip-in birdie, but the ball flew well over the pin and dropped, resulting in a score of 1 over par. On the other hand, Go Kyung-min’s second shot landed right in front of the pin, giving him a birdie chance from the start. He calmly seized the opportunity and succeeded, reducing his score by one stroke and further extending the gap with Kim Guk-jin.

After the 14th hole, the interim total scores were 4 over par for Kim Guk-jin and even par for Go Kyung-min. The final winner will be announced in a video uploaded to Kim Guk-jin TV on the 14th.
