Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do has announced the Gwangyang City Tour as another way to enjoy the 22nd Gwangyang Maehwa Festival, officially held for the first time in four years.
During the Gwangyang Maehwa Festival period (March 10 to March 19), the city will operate the city tour a total of four times on weekends: March 11 and 12, and March 18 and 19, allowing visitors to comfortably travel around Gwangyang Maehwa Village.
The Gwangyang Maehwa Festival City Tour departs from Suncheon Station (3:20 PM) and Gwangyang-eup Terminal (4:00 PM), where passengers board and then enjoy dinner and the festival at Gwangyang Maehwa Village, returning to Gwangyang-eup Terminal (9:20 PM) and Suncheon Station (10:00 PM).
The highlight of the Gwangyang Maehwa Festival using the city tour is the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Maehwa Village along the Seomjin River, the sunset, and the sparkling night views.
In addition, Gwangyang City operates flexible and diverse city tours by theme and season, including historical courses (Wednesdays), night view courses (Fridays), and special weekend courses.
Especially, groups of 15 or more who meet the requirements of visiting at least four tourist spots and having at least one meal within the area can make a reservation at least seven days in advance to have a private tour on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays with their preferred course.
To participate in the Gwangyang City Tour, reservations must be made at least three days in advance, and the tour operates only when there are seven or more reservations.
However, groups must make reservations at least seven days in advance.
The usage fee is 5,000 KRW for general passengers, 4,000 KRW for military personnel, seniors, and students, and 3,000 KRW for persons with disabilities and preschool children. Admission fees, travel insurance, and meal costs are separate.
