Logging is an industry with frequent accidents such as chainsaw cuts during timber cutting and being crushed by falling trees, placing it in the high-risk group for serious industrial accidents.
Accordingly, the county is inspecting compliance with safety regulations stipulated in the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and related laws at 11 logging sites, including six forest plantation site clearing projects and five pine wilt disease control projects.
Governor Jo said, “Logging work can lead to irreversible casualties from a momentary lapse of attention,” and urged, “Both workers and supervisors must thoroughly manage safety.”
