Incheon Yeonsu-gu, Songdo The Sharp Green Walk 1st 'Community Facility Safe Apartment' Unveiling Ceremony

On the 7th, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon held the unveiling ceremony of the first 'Community Facility Safe Apartment' plaque at Songdo The Sharp Green Walk 1st Apartment, attended by District Mayor Lee Jae-ho and residents.

The 'Community Facility Safe Apartment' project is a living quarantine initiative jointly promoted by the public health center and apartment complexes. It establishes quarantine guidelines for apartment community facilities, which did not previously exist, and reflects the characteristics of each apartment complex through ▲establishing quarantine guidelines and providing education and publicity ▲facility inspection and guidance ▲supporting quarantine supplies to improve the quarantine environment.

Yeonsu-gu operated four pilot complexes nationwide for the first time and was highly recognized for the excellence of the project, receiving an encouragement award in the academic poster category at the '2022 Infectious Disease Management Conference' hosted by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency in December last year.

Earlier in September of the same year, the 'Establishment of a Living Quarantine System for Apartment Community Facilities' was introduced by the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters as a model case of COVID-19 response among local governments nationwide.

This year, Yeonsu-gu plans to expand the 'Community Facility Safe Apartment' project from four complexes to eight, strengthen quarantine management of community facilities, and gradually increase the number of target complexes each year to become a city safe from infectious diseases.

Lee Jae-ho, Mayor of Yeonsu-gu, said, "We will create a safe local community by responding to various infectious diseases not only COVID-19 but also in the post-COVID era," adding, "We will continue to do our best to protect the health rights of Yeonsu residents."
